A little different shape on this one.......thanks for the inspiration to Big Mike Stafford.....he had a rosewood box similar to this one on his website, but I added a pedestal/foot, and put some features on the top that were not on his version.

This is a piece of slightly punky black walnut...it cracked a bit on me and the sapwood is plum ugly! :D Anyway, just another version of how to do a box.......this one will demonstrate to the audience that when you get into curved boxes, that the hollowing adds a lot of time to the piece........I wonder if they will appreciate all the work I am doing to show different styles? :D:rolleyes: Looking at the third pic, I see I did not get the renwax buffed enough.....gotta take care of that! :o

I am sure they will appreciate it. Really nice looking box Roger. Sap wood may be ugly but I like it. Well done.

Thanks Bernie........you know walnut can be great or lowsy........just depends on what tree or sometimes even what piece of the tree. Gotta use it for something......practice for a demo isn't a bad way to use it, and someone will like it, sapwood and all! ;)
