After joining a couple of years ago, this is my first post of a project. After long promised for my wife, I finally took a couple of days to focus on this to suprise her when she came home from out of town. Somewhat of a bargain piece, using 8 sheets of 1/2 birch plywood (bought for $16 bucks from a friend, what a steal), poplar for the face frames and molding since it would be painted, and hardware from old pieces I built years ago that I no longer have a need for. Total cost for me was just over $200. Finish is milk paint for the cabinets and shelving, water based mahogany stain with oil poly for the tops. Overall have about 35 hours in the project and one happy wife!
