Ambrosia maple HF with large bark inclusion. Finished with AO, buffed and rubbed back with 0000 steel wool to create a matte finish. My wife has claimed this one and has dubbed it "The Beast".

Gorgeous! So, how did you do it and keep it in one piece?

Hope you were wearing armor when you turned that!

That is a beauty. Ditto what Greg said. Like to see a bottom shot.

Pucker factor! You must have wrapped it with something to hollow!

Thanks, guys.

No body armor, but I always wear my face shield and stay out of the line of fire when possible.

Yes, I wrapped it up good. When I turn the larger forms green, I usually wrap the outside with stretch wrap to limit water loss while hollowing. When I use the steady rest, I wrap the area where the wheels touch with duct tape. This helps with these irregular or more unstable forms. Still, it caused some puckering. That makes turning more fun, right?

Bernie, here is a bottom shot that you wanted.
