You answered what I was really trying to find out....

If the compressor is going to sit - unused - from NOV/DEC to APR/MAY or so, what do I need to do re the oil.
What do I need to do re the belt?

This of course, is in view of being located in an unheated garage over the course of a typical Toronto winter (uggghh... brutal!)

I went to the segmented (linked) belt on the IR too. It doesn't seem to be affected by the cold, and takes some of the vibration out. 30 minutes with the heater and she's good to go, even during Minnesota's worst. ;)
