Of Block Planes? Yep, The other day, in the Dog Sled post, a discussion was about a family of Stanley block planes. So, I thought I would post a few photos of some of mine. Not all of mine are Stanleys, though...:D249534#18 7 #9-1/2 by Stanley,249535Joined by a Sargent 306 (sold as a Craftsman) and a Stanley #220 in blue paint,249536 Gee, looks like a handyman has shown up, along with Shelton all steel plane. The bigger plane is a little special. Built by sargent to compete with Stanley's #130..249538249539same plane. So, how about a group shot? Everybody smile...249540 The 9-1/2 was sold this past weekend, will be getting shipped out tomorrow. Down to just six of these little varmints...

I might just spend the rest of the week on re-sharpening a few irons. Some of these have beenin use for awhile, and are due for an "overhaul". I like the sargent ones the best, of the group, for some reason. Haven't had much time to use the #220, or the all steel Shelton.

Sometimes, I'll pick up an old block plane at yard sales, and when i get the iron out ( finally) it seems like the iron has been there since the plane was made. i have seen quite a few that were bowed out of flat. I have had to replace more than one iron because it was so far out of flat, too far back up the iron's length. Slip a $2.79 Buck Brothers Block plane iron in them, and call it a good plane...

Link worked fine, photo was a might small.

Anyone else with a group photo they want to share? Even L/Ns and L/Vs are welcome. Of the 20 I have, though, none are one of those two items.
