I have an image that needs to be 50" x 50" when finished. I want to split the image into 10" x 10" sections, laser cut them, then put them together on a wall. What is the easiest way to do this in Corel x5. I'm sure there has to be a better way than what I've been doing, which is re-drawing the whole image in sections. Any suggestions would be great.

Google search for "tiling in corel". There are several articles on how to do this. Here is one: http://coreldrawtips.com/site/printing-tile-images-in-coreldraw

Arrange your 10"x10" boxes into a grid

Group them together

size your graphic and position in the grid of boxes

Select your graphic, (under effects drop down) pick power clip, position the arrow
to the group of boxes and click on it.

Under arrange select break apart.

Now you can move individual boxes.

HI there
I am new here, and i am not the user of Corel x5 for now. However,i usually split the image using another image program.
But i want to know more abouT Corel x5.Is it possible for it to split tiff images (http://www.rasteredge.com/how-to/csharp-imaging/tiff-split/)?Or is there any other powerful image
program?Any recommendation will be highly apreciated.

Yes you can Donna.......do it exactly as Martin described. When he references "graphic" it means any type of graphic......a vector image or a bitmap (like .tiff).

This is perfect. I've been doing it differently and fighting two
software programs to get it done.

But .. it is something I often need to do when I put a raster border
around something and don't want to wait 30 minutes to do it. Splitting
a circle in half solves the problem, but alignment can sometimes be an issue.

This worked great. Thanks!

BTW.. already figured out .. if you're breaking it up into several boxes,
COMBINE the boxes before Power Clip.. don't GROUP them. (at least
in version x3) If you group them, it wants to put the image in one
container out of the group. If you combine the boxes, it puts the image
across all the boxes, which you can then Break Apart. cool!
