AS you can tell Harvey Fein's work has really inspired me. I am of course not in his league but continue to be intrigued by his basic methods.

Here are a few progress shots of an 11 1/2" x 2 " deep Maple bowl that's in my shop with one coat of Walnut oil.

The first is a shot of the first few slots.

Here I have started the back side.

Now the back at the slots is complete. A little nerve wracking!

Here's a shot from the inside just before I reversed it on my vacuum chuck to complete the bottom.

Thanks for looking and as usual C & C are welcome!

Pete, that's just too cool. I'll bet that WAS nerve racking! Well done.

very nice attempt to copy his work. nice even slots. Make sure you post it when you are done. I'm sure we will be seeing more pieces like this as he sells his new gizmo.

Thanks for the nice comments. I use a router set-up to cut the slots similar to what Harvey sells.

Everytime I see him doing a demo, I get the urge to try something similar. Looks like you are well on your way!
