Tweaking image

Can any of you very clever people tweak this image for me 'please'
I only need the crest itself, not the background plaque. I am hoping to raster it onto an un-coated flat flask.
I have tried and tried and can't get rid of the background properly and the writing is just a blur.
Have tried to remove the background with cut out lab but it is too hard.
Hours later I am hoping someone in creek world can help me. :)
I have a 45watt Epilog and using Corel x5

My goodness Bill, I never realized there were so many. Walter had sent me a copy of the original. Would you believe the original is not displayed in that lot! But if by chance the original does not I will look at these.

what you got there is a piece what is probably 200 years old and was a presentation piece for display.
