Ok here's 2 of the 3 Sister bowls done and #3 almost done.I took them to the family Christmas and then brought #3 back to finish it,sister 3 will pick it up on the 1st she'll be here for my birthday.

They came out all right I think. All are 15 x 6 #3 is 15 3/4 x 6 1/2 close enough.

Looks like some very fine bowls, Harry. I kide the texture on the bottom. What tool do you use for your spirals?

It's really nice to be able to make a family treasure for your loved ones. Congratulations.

I too would be interested to know what you used for the bottom texture.

The bottoms were done with the Mini Spiraler by Sorby with the small spiral disc,one was set at about 10* or 15*, the other set about 30*. When I get the third one done I think I'll try the Decorating Elf from Henry Taylor I bought one at the Cincinnati symposium last year. I will say one thing if I was doing it again I would only buy the Sorby tool. It works allot better and can do more. On the bottom of a bowl I like the spirals so we'll see how the Elf does on #3.
I put 4 coats of Tried & True and 2 coats of Arm-r-Seal the oil just wasn't doing what I wanted.
