Tried a new turning project ... bud vase + turned flowers. Bud vase is Catalpa; the three flowers are: Bubinga, Yellowheart, and Catalpa. Flowers finished with couple of coats of Tru-oil; bud vase couple of coats of paste wax. Flower stems are 0.15" dia brass-coated rod. I like the natural colors of these three turned wood flowers.

With my brown thumb, this may be the answer to my flower issue. Neat project. Did you just use a bandsaw to cut the petals?

Yes ... here's a link to the Carl Jacobson youtube tutorial that I followed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs8qv5Av5sE

The flowers look really nice with the different types of wood. Thanks for posting them.
