Merry Christmas Everyone,
I am in need of a good bench light. I do not use a maginifer with a light and don't really like them. Just looking for a good light. Suggestions?
Thanks,
Victor

I use the articulating light as used in office set-up. I found that the "oven" bulbs last a long time, and are more resistant to breaking.
Also added a small led gooseneck with a mag base for use as a task light for the lathe and the BS.

I recently got a light from Woodcraft that can be positioned just about anyway and has a magnet that actually holds it in place. Thirty some dollars.

Maybe a drafting table light, like an old Vemco? I have one of them actually on a drafting table, it has a fluorescent and an incandescent bulb, use one or both. High quality product too. Probably have to find used though.

I picked this gooseneck floor lamp up at Lowes. Less than $20. Works great in the shop.

I have yet to pick one up but my next visit to Kmart I plan to do so. I checked it out last time I was their and it seems well made and heavy for the price. Also noticed Target had a similar offering.

Ikea have a huge range of all sorts of lamps at very reasonable prices. THis is the first of several pages of listings: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/search/?query=lamps The Jansjo clip on or free standing LED lamps are amazing value and give good light. Be careful if going for a CFL (compact fluorescent) type - some of these are low on output/intensity. Best to cross check the bulb against something you know...

I find these in garage sales all the time for $2-$3.

I have two lamps with small flood bulbs similar to what Myk posted. They work very well when I need extra light.
