One of the first piece I presented on this forum was a Manta bowl
http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?105949-a-Manta-Ray-bowl
I did it gluing waste wood to protect the corners.
This one, I did turn following the "orthodox" method of Terry Scott with little wood pillar supporting the wings
it's faster, but be careful with fingers.
Walnut, 8" diag X 2" H, wings thikness 1/8", Danish oil.
248700
Enjoy with your turnings
I wish you a Merry Christmas

Lionel - Merry Christmas! Beautiful work! Love the gentle flow of the curve and the soft edge to the lip area of the bowl! Terry would be proud of this one!! Nice work!

I think I like this one better than the first, but it may just be the wood, or the finish, or perhaps your photography has improved. In any event, it's still a very cool concept and very well done. Thanks for posting - I always look forward to seeing what you will do next.
