The depth of the carved lines gives this the appearance beadwork. An excellent basket illusion piece!

Very nice work! For those interested, I suspect Carl used a technique similar to that of Jim Adkins described in detail in his article HERE (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/content.php?142-Native-American-Baskets-turned-on-a-lathe) on SMC.
