or not? Recieved a little block plane the other day. Iron has a Craftsman stamp with a oval logo. Under the cap iron though, it says "306" and 307. The plate for the adjustable mouth has a "306" cast into it. Front knob is not brass, at least not a yellow brass. iron has the lateral adjuster attached to it, not the plane. Casting is heavier than my Stanley 9-1/2. Rear depth adjuster is a brass wheel. 248676248677Got most of the rust cleaned off, using just a brass wire wheel in the drill press. Even sharpened the iron..248678248679248680248681 Just a little $6 (counting S&H) plane.. Sargent?

Looks like it. That funny little lateral adjust lever on the iron is a Sargent feature, as far as I know. I've got a similar Craftsman-badged block planes that I'm pretty sure is a Sargent.

I might try to track down the age of this little plane. Logo is an oval, the word CRAFTSMAN isn't a straight line, but kind of a wave shaped thing. Black painted body. Brass wheel in the rear, steel knob in front. Locking lever on the cap iron (black) is a chrome style. Early 50s, maybe???

Is there a site that one can look up the styles of Craftsman logos over the years? I've seen plain ovals, I've seen "crowns", And now a then just the word Craftsman stamped on things. Just trying to figure out when each logo came about.
