Shaker curly maple bed

It's been awhile and excuse the mess, but one more almost off of the 'to do' list. Shaker slat bed, similar to a design in the Fine WW Bed book. It will see a matress that is ~ 18" thick, so the headboard looks to be raised somewhat. Curly maple thats been 'seasoning' in the garage for a couple of years. In this pic has 3 coats of BLO. I played around with shellac on this one for the first time - but wow does it dry fast.

Nice job. It's a shame such nice wood may be hidden under a comforter. I suspect the BLO will only enhance the curl over time.
