I'm starting a new thread on a remote switch I bought and assembled. This was for my 4224 which already had a remote wire/switch and enclosure. The switch that PM supplied fails a lot (3 of them).

Ordered a new setup from a company that makes industrial switches. Total Cost was about $65 and well worth it.. The OEM Powermatic switch is garbage..
If you have magnets, then you save some $$.. The parts for the switch is about $50 including shipping.

Clear Grommets:
Kitchen door rubber stops, one that press into a hole.. has a center “pin” to it. These fit in the holes on the bottom. I used a reamer to make them tapered a bit since this is how these little clear stops come.

Magnets – 2 of these.

Glue 2 magnets with epoxy first

It takes about 5 minutes to assemble. screw on e-stop, push carrier for the switch block, snap on switch block
You attach the white/black to the switch block.

The box has a o-ring to keep out dust

E-stop works very smooth.. Not a lot of pressure to stop. Then you turn the e-stop a 1/4 turn to the right to turn it on.

For the remote to work the switch on the headstock has to be on, is that correct? More concerned with the 3520 lathe. Thanks for the info.

Steve....yes....they are wired in series....so they both have to be on and either one can shutoff the motor controller.
