steel city table saw.... the jury is deliberating

Does anyone else's table saw have the worm gear, at the end of the elevating shaft for the blade, held on with a spring pin? Has anyone else ever sheared that pin? Or more accurately had that pin become sheared?

Never have, but when they start getting hard to turn I put some "never seize " type lube on the threads and that makes it work better for a good while. The only really good dust collection that I've seen was on old Tannewitz saws,Oliver may have it too.
