Been working on setting up a DC pipe system. I have 6" S&D pipe as my main, hooked up to Shop Fox 2 HP DC. I have three 6" S&D Wye's and 6" ABS Blast Gates for drop-offs to my Band Saw (4" & 4"), Table Saw (4" & 4"), and Router Table (4" & 2-1/2"). I need to find Wye's that will reduce from 6" hose to two 4" hoses (or one 4" and a 2-1/2") that I can connect with hose clamps. Any sources?

Home depot and other supply houses sell 6 inch to two 4 inch wye's. That would probably be your best fitting. You could also use a 6 inch wye and two reducers.

James,

You should be able to find 6X6X4 wyes at a plumbing supply or possibly at one of the big box stores. No such thing as 6X4X4 as far as I know.

Adapting to the 2 1/2" will require a couple fittings and you will most likely need to leave another gate open to get the required flow. 2 1/2" does not flow much volume. I used an HVAC 6 X4 adapter in a couple places in my system to adapt from the PVC to 4" flex. I suggest the HVAC fitting becasue the PVC 6X4 has no taper. It's just an abrupt change. Not very good for flow.

Here's a pic....

You will have better luck if you run 4" to whatever tool it is that has a 2 1/2" port and then reduce right at the port.

Some folks report that McMaster Carr carries the fittings for reasonable prices.
