I have made a number of goblets, mostly very 'formal' in design and wanted to break from that. This is the first result.

Not patterned after any specific flower, just an impression of 'flower'. I did a few tulip designs later, but they have all found homes.

On a side note, I tried taking these pictures outside in a photo tent against white paper. I think they turned out much better than my past attempts.
C & C welcome, as always.

Thanks Bernie.

A little carving, some offset turning and even some wood burning and coloring... I probably won't do many this complex.

I like the rustic feel that this goblet has! Nice work on the relief carving! The overall effect of the combined elements is that of a very nice piece of folk art! Pretty cool!

I like that! Nice overall effect.

Despite the "power" aspect, power carving isn't all that easy, is it? The artisan still has to direct the tools to get a decent result.

In some ways its harder to control a rotary tool than a chisel. Removes more wood (with the right burrs) quickly and I can undercut M*U*C*H easier.

This really turned out nice. It beats the formal designs in my book. Very classy.
