There is a chance that honey and I may be in New Bern, N.C in the next couple of months visiting some friends (not wood workers). Where might I look for some turning stock in the area, or within 50 miles or so? I was looking for wood that is not commonly found here on the Cape. We will probably be in our pickup, as that carries more wood/logs than the family SUV :) :) Of course, thrift is of some concern, and I could bring something down from here to trade if there are not any purveyors of cellulose nearby.

Thanks, Fred

Some of the guys in that area might chime in with more suggestions.

I can't remember if it is out of bounds to mention another web site on this forum. But NCWoodworker dot com would be a good place to post this question.
There is a guy not far from New Bern on Highway 43 Calico Custom Woodworks. He is a custom sawmiller with a Wood Mizer and his stock is constantly changing(252-746-6807).
