I saw an ad today for a "Sorbothane Soft-Blow Mallet" claiming it is superior to standard (shot-filled) dead-blow hammers for woodworking assembly. It intrigued me a little, since I keep finding myself needing a dead-blow, making a mental note to shop for one, then promptly forgetting until the next time I need one.

In theory, the sorbothane hammer is a great idea--no bounce, all the benefits of a dead-blow with a soft face that by its nature resists marring surfaces. Unlike those good 'ol rubber mallets, it won't leave skid marks, either.
Anyone use one of these? Worth the investment?
Thanks!
