Who took over the Record Vise brand ?

When Record stopped making their line of Bench Vises, did they just stop making them or did they sell the product line to another company and they are now being made overseas under a different brand name ?

Clarence- I think that they are just gone, whether the name or product line has been exported or not. I have a couple of them, and they are nice. The only positive advice I can give is : craigslist.

I think they are now produced by Anant in India. Same vise but the Record lettering is gone from the front of the vise. Maybe not "same", but as close as you'll get.

They still manufacture a line of tools,including vises- http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/search/filter/vices-3/brand/record/type/any/module/shopcategory/page/1 -you just can't get them here anymore. You have to find a dealer in the UK who'll ship them to you.
