Here's the other half of the cherry burl that was given to me. This one I made a box out of, I think I made the pedestal too heavy, and the lid and the bottom shape don't flow together, next time I'll know what to look for, but a beautiful piece of wood anyway.

Beautiful piece Jerry! The lid may not be typical with that type of form, but it really shows off that nice burl and I think it works well with the piece.

I think you're right about the pedistal, but I love the shape of the lid...great job of keeping that globle shape.
