Bought one of those Craftsman 15 inch wood lathes with the Electronic variable speed back when they first came out. Got 3 wood lathes in all, but the Craftsman is the one I work with the most. I noticed that they discontinued that model a couple of years ago and when I looked up on the availability of parts from the Sears website, should it ever break down, Well, they don't seem to carry the most important parts!!!
So, if that Motor or the electronic Variable speed drive system should break down and need to be replaced, what are my options ? Can that lathe be rebuilt and if so, what parts would be able to be substituted for the discontinued parts ?
