Anyone know a source for Oyster knife parts? I'd like to turn the handles but buy the blades to insert. My internet searches are coming up empty. Thanks.

Sometimes, you can find cutlery in thrift stores and remove the existing handles. Not sure how often oyster knives would show up there. Maybe a restaurant supply store? It's amazing how inexpensive things can be there.

Joe - depending on where you live, you may be able to pick up some knives locally and use those blades like Doug suggests. I know when I worked commercial fishing there was a supply house for all the tools needed for oysters, crab and shrimping.

This is the only knife vendor (http://www.americannationalknife.com/Tersa%20Blades.asp?gclid=COXyj-qK97MCFehDMgodTTcAnQ) I could locate on the web that may carry what you are looking for. Good luck!

Last time I visited the marine supply store in Galilee RI, the oyster knives were fairly cheap, just a few dollars each. There was a laundry basket full of them. Like mentioned earlier, you could remove the stock rubber handles and make your own.
