I bought an old Walker Turner lathe many years ago (early '70s). The elderly gent included a few chucks with it, and some glue. Stuff was black gew, a stick like a small baloney sausage. Anyway, you could turn blanks into any size sanding drum you want, then "burn" some of that black glue stick on it, then put some sandpaper on it while the glue was still hot. Stuff worked great. "Custom" sanding drums. Now I can't find that glue. Don't see anything listed at Woodcraft for that, spindle sander accessories, sanding drums and such.
I am making some cabriole legs. The variety of sanding drums comes in handy.
LIke these. (making new ones for my niece's wedding)

Anybody know what that stuff is/was (the black glue)??
Thanks
