I think I'm done playing with birch plywood ornaments but I had to do this one more to try and get the segments all lined up just right get it centered so all 8 facets would be the same. This one also has some thin walnut veneer between the segments. The finial and icicle are walnut.

Then I threw in a couple I made screwing around with plywood bells and scraps from other glue ups.

And these last 3 are part of a group of 12 I made to donate to the North Ogden Museum where my wife volunteers. North Ogden was once known for their huge cherry orchards. But they're almost all gone now so these are N.O. cherry ornaments as a souvenir they sell in their gift shop.

And now I try not to drive you all nuts (and me) with more ornaments this year.

All winners Curt.......not a sow's ear in the bunch! Every one of them is a looker and the walnut accents really add to the first one vs. the other one you did. These are just cool!!!!:cool::cool:

Beautiful work Curt! I really like the plywood because of the unique patterns that you create! The Cherry ornaments really have some nice color variation and I am sure they will be big sellers! Very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

PS - I never get tired of looking at your work - especially your ornaments! Keep them coming if you feel like turning some more!

Curt, I always enjoy looking at the ornaments you post. I'd like to try working with plywood, but I'm afraid it would drive me nuts.

Curt I like your ornaments. I tried a couple and my tools didn't work, ruined both. Gotta have some kind of excuse.

Curt,

I'm relatively new to turning and haven't commented on other people's posts since I'm more in the "lurker" mode for now. I have an interest in ornaments and have just begun to dabble in the bird house type.

But, when I see your name and the word 'ornament' in a thread, it's a must see. They're Fantastic! Maybe one day when I grow up........... (from a turning standpoint)

My opinion: Keep them coming.

Curt,
I'm with Harry...really like the bells. What plywood did you use to get the black glue lines...very distinctive.

Great ornaments. How about a small tutorial on the process on a simple one. Pictures of the different stages would be great.
