good evening to all ,this is my last piece :o
the general concept was born from the evidence that often (too often) the man is trying to "hide and cover" the crap that combines ... logically (thankfully) there can never completely and "a nice sheet will never completely cover and hide the ugliness of certain incivility" ...

wood is apricot, a feather for the accuracy, dead on his feet about 40 years, so measures "important" .. maximum diameter of 51 cm; finishing linseed oil, to try to "understand" you should "disengage" from the classic cliché of lightness that in some ways we "impose" turning art of the great artists from abroad (eg Drozda) trying to figure out "what a bad half-covered by a beautiful thing" ... then a bottom almost raw and poorly finished (polished, pyrography and radicature annexed) the shape only (almost) sketched, partially covered by a beautiful "sheet" ... in short, the idea seems good and can be developed in different ways .. the dark spot that is seen is a resin necessary to be able to turn and use, since it is a "dry fruit bowl" and was first hole of rot through .. the word to all of you .. thanks to those who sincerely want to tell her .. C & C welcommed , sorry for my bad english

Francesco,
My first words were, "Oh wow!" That is amazing, beautiful and very well executed. I really like the way you rolled the wood over the edge. Great imagination and insight into what makes a turning a piece of art. Keep up the wonderful work.
Happy turning,
Steve

Not my cup of tea. I've never been impressed with abstract art.

Don't know anything about art but that is a beautiful turning and I applaud your skill in executing it perfectly.
edit: your photographs are real nice

Wow! While I can appreciate the real artsy and delicate turnings, I find myself being drawn more to the rustic ones. This is exceptional. I would have never thought that you could have turned such a great piece from this hunk of wood. I love the rolled edge. Well done!

Francesco...fortunately for all of us, this piece speaks for itself. I too have looked at the various angles, and really enjoy the look of the edge that appears rolled over, and the overall weight of the piece. Bravo man...Bravo!

I like the way you utilized the beauty of the wood and added some beauty of your own to it. I agree that we sometimes focus on design "rules" and loose sight of the natural beauty of the material we are working with.

L'arte e la storia sono entrambi dal tuo cuore. Non preoccuparti per il tuo inglese. Il lavoro ci dice tutto. Un bel pezzo.
By the way, hopefully, this is your "most recent" piece but not your "last". Spero che il mio italiano ha un senso.

Fausto, your Italian is very good, certainly better than my English ; maybe your name has Italian roots?**il tuo italiano è ottimo , certamente meglio del mio inglese , forse anche il tuo nome ha radici italiane ? :)

Francesco,
My family came from Provincia Foggia but two generations ago. My Italian is mostly a dialect but modern technology helps me clean it up.

Francesco, this piece is awesome! Love the wood, love the roll. Makes me want to look again at those odd pieces of interesting wood I can't quite figure out what to do with, but can't discard. Perhaps I should send them to you.
