View Full Version : dewalt 706 or upgrade

I'm starting to think that it would be nice to have a miter saw setup with a good fence with accurate stops. I've had a dewalt 706 for a long time, and have never been impressed by the quality of the cut. Part of this I am sure is the blade, which is really just a construction quality blade. With a top quality blade, would this saw be an accurate and clean cross cutter? Or would it be better to not waist a lot of time and upgrade to a better miter saw or radio arm saw?

What I am trying to avoid is spending some real money on a good blade, only to find out that it's more of a 2x4 cutter. (It is actually just fine for that)

Any suggestions for blades?

Thanks once again everyone for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
