Last year, I was fortunate and was able to get a lot of wood from trees that were destroyed by the May 22, 2011 EF5 tornado that hit Joplin. More specifically, oak from some of the oak trees that were at Joplin High School, which was completely destroyed by that tornado. As a result, I have sold a lot of pens and bowls that have been made from that oak. Well, yesterday I got an order for 48 more pens from a company here in town (24 Gatsby’s and 24 Patrizio’s).:) The bad news is they want them by Dec. 17th, and I still have several other Christmas orders that I need to get done. :eek: Well, the wife has been talking about getting into turning as well. She has turned some pens (and sold some as well). So we have been talking about getting a mini for her. The decision has been on again and off again. Well, this pretty much made the decision for us. I will be contacting Woodcraft about getting one of the Rikon 1216’s for the shop. :) Now all I have to do is find the room.:p
