Picked up a PSI variable speed 10" lathe today for $75 (sneaker gloat). Came with a couple faceplates and a bed extension.
Barely had it set on the bench before my 14 y/o got ahold of it and won't let go! Have to come up with a reason to ground her so I can have some turning time!

Get a comfortable chair, a thermos of coffee and enjoy the show. Plenty of time for you to play later!

Yeah, I figure she has to go to school sometime! I just don't want her getting better than me, LOL!

Only one thing to do. Let her keep her lathe and go shopping for one of your own.

I think Rodney has the right idea! Looks like it will be broke in in no time.

Good luck with ever getting time on that lathe again, she's having too much fun. I agree with the others........time to go find another lathe !

Biff that is a wonderful picture. Enjoy while you can. Oh yea PSI sells a nice 12" VS lathe that could be for you.

Biff,
There is nothing better than to share a hobby with one of your own kids. It teaches you as much as it does them. Well Done, on all accounts.

I struggle to get my sons on a lathe. Count your blessings, and go look for another lathe.

Ha, that shirt pretty much sums up her attitude! Actually, she is a very sweet and generous girl. She was bummed she didn't get wood shop this trimester in school so this will help her get her "fix".
