We all have leftover wood from projects, etc that we think is too good to throw out.

After finishing my son's house, had a lot of cherry & oak wood that was cut and sanded, etc for cabinets, trim, etc..

Used a lot of the cabinet frame wood which is 3/4" x 1 5/8" wide for cutting boards, chess boards....
Right now have 20 plus cutting boards setting in box, will probably give them to Sunday School class at Christmas..

Tried putting it on S&S forum for others to make same, appears no interest...
I give a lot of thicker cut-offs and stuff to local lathe club, but these are too thin to turn..

Question.... What other small projects can this be used for ??
Looking for projects that when have 2-4 hours free time, can work on and get completed..

Have a lot of the 3/4" x 1 5/8" wide oak strips about 16-24" long, maybe 75-100 or more..

Also have bunch of 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 18" glued up oak panels that were for doors, maybe 40-50..

Tired of it being in shop, but hated to throw it out after all the work put into them...
I am retired and not in business, so have no method to sell stuff nor any desire to do so...
(when you sell stuff, it is no longer fun, it is simply work)

Any advice appreciated...

They may be too thin to turn by themselves, but I bet they would make great pieces for segmented turning... consider advertising it as such.

I think I'd start making boxes. Everybody loves boxes of all kinds.

Kindling; seriously. I also had trouble throwing away interesting looking small offcuts, the kind of boards that would make a terrific looking drawer front, but ended up with a shop full of clutter.

How did you happen to end up with 40-50 excess door panels?

Oak is a butt ugly wood. Best just to use it to heat the house or shop.

Cherry could be used for segmented turning, but if it is boring old steamed cherry I wouldn't waste my time with it.
