Well it was a great day today at the craft fair. Mostly sold were peppermills (regular 8", mini's and antique), wine bottle stoppers, toothpick holders, pens and ornaments. Sold all my mills but one, a dozen toothpick holders and sold all my mini birdhouses. After all expenses including sales tax made over $500. So I am tired as it was a long day but all in all a good day. A picture of the display and I didn't take any shelves with me.

Nice going Bernie! Glad to see a craft fair do well for you. Did any proceeds from artisans go for the mission of the church involved?

We held a craft fair a few years ago and participants agreed to donate 10% of their profit for missions......thought it was kind of a noble thing to do.

Way to go Bernie! It's a good feeling when people buy your work. I looks like you know what they wanted.

Thanks Roger and Marc. Roger all vendors donated 10% to our youth organization. It is for their yearly trip and of course I also donated to their bake sale. How can you pass up on a peach cobbler, a apple pie and plate of brownies for $15.:D Pretty tasty stuff but not much good on my girlish figure.LOL

Did well Greg. I have several orders to fill to so the total is not in fully. I just got two more orders while sitting here.

Thanks again to all. What was kind funny I never sold a bowl or vase but that is ok. Sitting here watching TV I have received 6 more orders for about $400 so still coming in and the next couple of weeks is going to be busy.

Excellent news, glad you made out well. I'm thinking about starting a What Should I Do At A Craft Fair thread, this was just the incentive.

Pretty pieces.

Thanks again to all. Got some more orders thru facebook which is going to put me over $1000 after expenses. The LOML said now aren't you glad I talked you into trying craft fairs again? She said I told they all aren't bad. It actually was a last minute decision because I swore after the fiasco 5 or 6 yrs ago I would never do another.

That's great Bernie. Tell me, were the follow up orders for the same items that you sold? Or did people change their minds about hollow forms, vases and bowls?

You would get the same results if you just sold bird houses!! Great job sir...worthy cause and I'm waiting for my brownies!

Thanks again to all. So far 11 orders.

Peter they were for things that people saw when looking. Some called back after showing their spouse and ordered more of what they bought. Still no vases or bowls.

Jim them brownies didn't last long. I told the wife to hide the dang things. One of my weaknesses. lol

Congrats and that's a very good looking display. A golfer friend once made a comment to me about woodturning that your post reminded me of. He said woodturning is neat because you could sell your stuff after you had fun doing it. He said no one would ever want to buy his old golf scorecards.

Well done, Bernie. Some nice looking stuff there. Think of all the toys you can buy with the money from those sales.

Last craft show I did was almost 40 years ago. Different hobby. I heard a lot of comments, sort of like being home when a Realtor is showing your house. Did you pick up on why people weren't going for the bowls and hollow forms?

Congrats Bernie! You've been busy, I hope I don't have to work that hard when I retire. Unless like you, I want to... just kidding, I know it's not work.
