steamed pear

Just picked up about half a slab of steamed pear today, I got about 5" wide useable piece 2" thick x 6' long. After re-sawing and planing, I can understand why Krenov loved this wood. It has a very nice sheen to it and some interesting tight grain. Planes very smooth. I am looking forward to using this wood.

Stephen: Yeah I am making a tea box with it for my dad.

Zach: he did but mostly because it muted the color, but I can tell you, that this is a pretty wood.So I can understand his love for it.

I made a humidor out of Pear wood, thought it looked fantastic, the grain and color was great.
