can anyone help me identify this tool. It was solid rust which I removed so I have no idea of its original color. Also I haven't found any markings.245711

Looks like some sort of rabbeting shave, perhaps?

Dang! I've seen those before, and seen them identified...but can I remember where or what? Noooooo....

Could it be a leather tool? Kind of an odd presentation of cutting edge to material for wood.

It looks like s Shoe Shave..it was used to shape the leather for heels etc...thats my best try..a picture of one in manufactured and Patentended Spokeshaves & Similar tools by Tom Lamond

I'm pretty sure it is for leather work,too.

Hi guys You gave me just enough to find one. It is on ebay of course. It is a boot makers tool. Mine is a bit rougher looking but it the same tool.
