Just heard of this FREE image manipulation program (Donations accepted) in this mornings email from Kim Komando. It's a great tool for the creative, and aren't we all. :)

Here's a quick sampling of just 2 of the many stock filters that are all adjustable & saveable.
Very well designed, super easy to use, many features, a truly amazng program!!

Can't wait to play with it using the laser, subilmation and the wide format printer. :)

You can download it at: www.Fotosketcher.com (http://www.Fotosketcher.com)

I have used this on quit a few occasions, not bad for a freebie.

The one thing to watch is make sure you opt out of the "Ask" toolbar and search engine as you'll have to do some tracking
down to get rid of it later.

Paint.NET from http://getpaint.net does the same (and MUCH more), also for free. Plugins galore from fellow users, and if you have a need for a particular plugin that doesn't yet exist, often times one of the power users will make it for you and release it into the wild.

I think fotosketcher is a better program since you can draw with it. I'm not seeing that feature on getpaint. Did I miss it?

It has the full selection of drawing tools (brush, pencil, paint bucket, etc.)... I can't remember if I ever used my Wacom with it, though. It's my go-to program for image editing rather than straight drawing (I'm no artist by any stretch of the word).

Another great free option is Gimp: http://www.gimp.org
It's available for Windows, Mac, and most varieties of Linux
