6 olive trees - missed it by that much

My BIL called yesterday to let me know a neighbor had taken down 6 120 yr old olive trees to enlarge his stable.

I offered to pay for the trees, the shipping, whatever labor etc (They're 1500 miles away). Visions of a lifetime of olive dancing in my head.

This morning he lets me know that the trees are already gone. Cut up for firewood.

Did I mention the trunks on a couple of these were 2 feet around?

Sigh.

No idea who got the the "firewood". If you could find out maybe they would sell you some "firewood". Might be worth a try even if it is 1500 miles away. How well do you get along with your BIL, maybe he would investigate for you.

Nah. He's a good guy. He tried. I also have him to thank for my other chunks of olive. He and his neighbor split the olive grove between their properties.

Say it with me. Olive Grooooove. Could be over 100 trees.

Still, 6 tree trunks...

"What honey? You want an olive dining room table and matching dishware? Coming right up!"



I should have got the guys number. "I will individually gift wrap every piece of firewood I have and send it to you and pay for return shipping for a like amount of olive."
