Nice review Derek. I noticed those on his site a few weeks ago, and was hoping to see a review on them one of these days. I currently use the saw-chisel-router plane method, but often feel that a dado plane would be preferable. Nice to see that someone is making one again.

That is a lovely looking plane and a nice review. I don't make a lot of dados, so I had not really researched any methods. I've used my router in the past but as I continue my gradual transition to hand tools only I will be practicing your method of sawing and chiseling out the waste. I recently purchased a used 71 that works well so I will now have what I need for dados. That is until I can afford a nice dado plane like what you've reviewed here. So thank you for the review, it's helped me in several ways.
