Tornado's help Turners

I'm fairly sure this piece is from some Ash I got from a tornado that passed through near here last year. I rough turned the bowl and forgot to label the bag :(

It's 7" x 3", finished with a coat of Danish Oil and buffed. The profile is a shape that I don't see too often but I enjoy turning. Likely to be another Christmas gift, maybe for my sister.

Nice looking bowl, but looks more like Osage Orange to me than Ash. Was it hard when you turned, especially when dry? The color just looks too dark for Ash.

I'm guessing Black Locust, not yellow enough to be Hedgeapple.

Tom, it's definitely not OO, I have some and I've turned some very recently. I don't know about Black locust, maybe someone at the club gave me a piece? I'm going to have to do a better job of labeling my blanks and rough turnings, my memory isn't good enough and I have a large variety of different wood I have collected, but not enough to rival you Tom! :eek:
