I'm redoing a desk we bought at an auction. The majority of the bolts had to be beat out because they were bent in one way or another. This was probably due to a little wood movement.

I should probably pound them straight, but if I ruin the threads or they don't go, I'm gonna need a backup plan.

These look like carriage bolts with the exception that it doesn't have the square at the top. Just some "forks" to stick in the wood. The top of the bolt is smooth.

Any ideas what I need to be looking for?

Thanks for the help!

Its a form of carriage bolt.. others should work for most applications... and available from Home Depot, Lowes and many other hardware stores.

As Jim said... it's a common carriage bolt available in any hardware store.
