I got my girlfriend started into woodturning lastnight. She has been learning tool usage and control roughing out a few blanks. Hopefully soon we will have enough time to turn one start to finish.

And "FUN" is the main part of turning as far as I am concerned. Just be sure to encourage her.

She likes my lathe cause if she breaks it she can fix it (all steel and shes a welder)
she gets to play on the big metal lathes where she works, 6ftx40ft

Well Curtis, I was going to warn you that you might have to get her her own lathe. Sounds like she could make it from scratch.
