I just finished my first Soren Berger type scoop. Several previous attempts have been disasterous so even though this is far from refined, I got it off in one piece :D. It was a humbling experience and yielded a lot of good lessons learned. Its made of Cherry, turned on 4 axis, sphere measures 2.9" OD and the overal length is 4.9", wall thickness about .18". Finshed with wanut oil. Even though the bowl is less than 3" deep it made for some definite excitement while hollowing with that little knuckle buster of a handle flying around and I've got a real appreciation for the great hollowing work I see on the Creek!

Well done! I've tried this before, and never succeeded.

Very nice work Dick. Multi axis stuff is very cool, plus I like user pieces like this. Glad you still have all your knuckles.

Well done, Dick. I've done several now and they are still a big challenge.

That looks great Dick!
Certainly a challenge and I'm glad you got away with all your knuckles intact!

Good Job. I've made one we use for filling the coffee grinder, but it is just a bit small so I need to make another. Definitely a pucker factor with that hand spinning around, so you can understand why it keeps getting put off!

Thanks to all for the kind comments. Something as simple as this utilitarian piece was great fun. (I'm still looking in the shop for the handle that flew off when I orbited the first one ;) )

Excellent! I've got the knuckle busting part of the process down pat but have yet to pull off a scoop worth keeping. My hat is off to you! Cheers
