Haven't had a lot of shop time lately or SMC time for that matter. Always great to see all the new work being done by all the talented folks here.

This is a maple bowl I finally got photographed. Playing with some techniques for narrow flutes. Need to do some more to get these done a litte better. I do not like how they are finished at the collar. There are 60 bines on this piece.

Great to see you posting again! Beautiful bowl! Really like the thinness of the flutes.... very different! Hope this means you are getting in some shop time!!

Interesting piece Mark the narrow flutes set it off very well.

I like it a lot. See what you're talking about at collar ,but I think the double bead edge is perfect with that treatment. To me they are reeds, not flutes. They are unusually deeply cut and well finished.

Great looking piece Mark. I Like the narrow flutes. I wonder how it would have looked with either a black ink line or burnt line where the flutes end at the top.

Mark you've really stepped it up with this piece. Great work and hope to see it in person, and ya how did you do it?

After turning the bowl I layout the lines using an indexing wheel and dividers. Then the fun begins. This piece was done free hand using the lathe and a keyless chuck for several types of circular cutting and grinding tools.

hope to see it in person, and ya how did you do it?

Bob, hoping to make the Windy City meeting this month, maybe I will see you there.

Thanks to everyone for looking and commenting.
