iTunes experts needed

I am using iTunes like many million other users and have noticed something odd with my iTunes store purchases....in the itunes store its possible to show the number of song purchases...in my case 285 songs. Yet in the purchased tab it shows only 277...i wonder what happened to the other 8 songs...any ideas?

Is it possible the 8 songs were free? iTunes often has free promotions.

I am not an iTunes expert, but I have been a Mac user for years. The only place I have seen the songs purchased was at the iTunes store.

The free ones show up in a different window.

i have no idea but maybe they are in a different spot than where i have looked.

finally after some poking around in the files i found the missing songs.
