Hi All: I am making a wall clock with a thick card stock paper dial. How would one go about making a nice clean center hole cut for the mechanisms? Hand paper hole punches will not reach center, too small.

Has to be perfect ya know :) Thanks

Something like this should work. There are a variety of hole punches that are of this design.

Thanks..looks like it will work. Got me thinking.. I could always tear apart my hole puncher and use it. Then I sound a cheap hole punch set kit. Don't know why I did not think of this sooner.

Harbor Freight will sell you a set of hollow punches, also know as gasket punches for about ten bucks. They go up through 1/2". Larger ones can be ordered from Reid Industries. I bought a 5/8" one for making shims for my dado sets.

If you're just gonna do one clock for now, go to the local shoe repair shop if ya have one. Betcha that they have just the hole punch ya need, and probably will let ya punch it right there in the shop.

If you happen to be a shooter ammo shells make a great punch. I fount a 22 caliber makes great holes in your belt when you need another.
