I am considering purchasing a
DMT DiaFlat-95 10" x 4" 160grit Lapping Plate
Can anyone please provide any thoughts/views on this product
Further other than lapping waterstones what additional uses could this plate be used for

You will be very happy with the plate, DMT makes a good product and if you have the extra $200, go right ahead. What I have found with all of my DMT continuous plates is that they are a bit more aggressive when new, but have a quick break-in period. You could use it for other sharpening tasks for sure.
Personally, I use W/D sandpaper on a flat surface for lapping my stones, cheaper and more work area. Use the $200 to buy other stones, or some of the other DMT continuous stones. I use a course and extra course for initial flattening of plane irons and chisel backs before moving to my water stones.
