I have a 1970 Delta/Rockwell 28-200 bandsaw in need of new lower wheel bearings. I know I can get replacements through Louis Iturra, but at $45/set, I am curious if they can be acquired locally. Does anyone have the specs on these bearings? I know I'm trying to go less expensive (read cheap), but Soc Sec doesn't go as far as it did yrs ago. :( TIA
John

I Get all of my bearings from here; http://www.usabearingsandbelts.com/

I Just rebuilt a 1959 Delta 14" wood/metal bandsaw and it was about $60 for all 10 bearings. The lower wheel bearings are the most expensive and they're about $10 each. You just need the number off of the bearing when ordering because Delta has used two different bearings over the years.

took mine to a local Allied bearing place. Slapped them on the counter, they measured them and 2 minutes later I was out the door. Not close to $45.00

accuratebearing.com is where many OWWMers go. Lynne is very helpful.
Have the bearing numbers you need handy.

I agree with the others, go to a local bearing supply house with your old bearings and they will fix you up.

Fastenal is dirt cheap on bearings. Delta's prices on bearings is just plain stupid, especially when they use Chinese bearings now.
