Epilog vibrating/shaking carriage between jobs?

An Epilog Legend 32 has an odd problem where the entire carriage assembly (the the lens etc) shakes or vibrates when it's moving between jobs. When it's lasering it doesn't do it, but when it's moving between elements on the table it shakes. Same happens when it moves into position to focus, and when I do the move x/y. Any idea what could be causing this problem? Possibly acceleration compensation settings?

When turned off, move the head on both axis and see if it feels rough, and wiggle to see if there is excess play. Could be worn bearings or broken teeth on belt. How old is it? A friend bought an older used 32 and had to replace the whole carriage assembly when it acted that way a few months after buying it. His was a dual head and had a lot of hours on it.
