Alternate material for desk name plates?

How about glass or mirrors? like you buy for your bathroom etc.. These can be bought from very small to huge..

If I had a sand blaster, yes, those would be options

Why should you need a sandblaster while you have a laser????
I think you will be able to get good results with that 25W Pinnacle.
Ever tried it?? (mirrors give great results when lasered from the back and painted after cleaning.
Just play with speeds and powers for best result. Start your tests with your acrylic settings..

Could one of those color over gold foil laminates be used? Some of them even look like tortoise shell. I guess you would have to put paint in the carved out letters.

I have used 'scrap' marble strips (~3x12)with good results.
