I thought I'd post a few of my recent turnings, so there may be a few coming your way.

First is ambrosia maple HF dyed blue (obviously), then WTF. 6" x 6" (approx)

Eric, I'm not often a fan of dying. I do have to say that it looks like you did a great job of it, though! The shape is also not very traditional, but in a way, I like that. With the rim like you did it, the color inside the rim, and oddly because of the thickness, too, I would have bet this was clay! Which adds another reason I like it. And pictures are deceiving...it looks about 3" x 3"...

Thanks, Mike. I dyed this on a whim to see what the ambrosia staining would look like.

I like how the dye turned out with the ambrosia staining. It has a really cool look. Great finish, too!

That's really cool. I like the variation in the color due to the ambrosia.

I agree with Mike, abouyt the color and rim color and the Clay look. I think if teh blue was a hint lighter it may have come across as more woody than clay-y, I suspect however that when in hand this pieces comes across different.
